Half of the maps in this atlas are dedicated to the United States, Canada, and Central America, while the other half is dedicated to the rest of the world. Each state in the United States gets its own page (or in some states' cases, multiple pages).
The atlas also includes a chart of the stars, lists of principal countries and cities of the world, satellite imagery, general reference, political boundaries including flags, and the polar regions.
The index contains a list of abbreviations, a tutorial on how to read geographical coordinates, and a basic pronunciation guide for foreign place names. The gazetteer lists countries, first order administrative areas (states in the USA), counties in the USA (parishes in Louisiana and census areas in Alaska), and rivers; the page number; and the geographic coordinates.
