There are 196 lessons in this survey of Old Testament history, subtitled "History for the Thoughtful Child." These lessons are designed to be done orally with elementary-aged children. They can also be used as a daily family devotional, making them suitable for older children, including those in high school. Sunday School teachers may also find this resource helpful in planning their lessons.
Each lesson has historical background information about the scripture, but is not a commentary. There are questions designed for discussion and more careful thought.
The authors, Rob and Cyndy Shearer, started homeschooling in 1985 and have eleven children (at the time of publication).
The Shearers used the following sources in producing this book:
International Inductive Study Bible
The Narrated Bible
The Daily Bible
