The Civil War - A Narrative separates the War into three comprehensive sections. Volume 1 covers the war from its beginning at Fort Sumter to Perryville; volume 2 covers the war from Fredericksburg to Meridian; and volume 3 covers the war from Red River to its end at Appomattox. Each volume contains a battle map with troop movement on the first two pages. There are also numerous maps within each volume specific to what is being discussed in a chapter.
