This book coincides with the ABC television series hosted by the late news anchor Peter Jennings, one of the book's authors, but stands on its own as a reference. The volume takes much of its content from narratives of the people who actually lived through the events and has pages full of actual photographs. It's a very personal chronicle of the 20th century.
This volume is better suited for an adult audience and contains photographs that might be disturbing to some.
