This 672-page book is a very scholarly look into the history of the Keystone State. There are two major parts to the book: The History, which begins with "The First Pennsylvanians" (its Native Americans in the Paleo-Indian period from about 10,000 B.C.) and closes in the year A.D. 2000, and Ways to Pennsylvania's Past, which includes guides in geography, architecture, archaeology, folklore and folklife, genealogy, photography, art, oral history, and literature.
The hefty volume also includes black-and-white and color photos and illustrations, and is popularly used by Pennsylvanian homeschoolers in high school who are meeting their Pennsylvania History requirement.
