Although this edition of the book is over 40 years old, it is still an excellent reference in the field. Since it does not limit itself to a specific programming language, but rather to the theory it avoids becoming obsolete. It discusses basics of number systems and truth functions, ordinary sequential circuit design and on to clock-mode versus pulse-mode design, incompletely specified sequential circuits, and level mode circuit design.
This book does require previous knowledge of higher level mathematics such as Calculus.
