Believed to be based on an Italian short story "Un Capitano Moro", Othello tells a tale of love, betrayal, murder and suicide. It is the story of the conflict between Othello, Iago, Brabantio and Cassio which leads to Othello's murder of his wife, Iago's imprisonment and Cassio's becoming governor of Cyprus. Overall one of Shakespeare's best.
