GOOD: Both volumes show page yellowing due to age as expected from this age book. There is minimal marking in the index which was used by the previous owner to show which writings were read in the books.

These volumes were used in a college level American Literature class. Writings range from the late 1500s/early 1600s to 1964. Covering a wide group of authors including John Smith, Thomas Jefferson, Henry David Thoreau, Carl Sandburg and Ralph Ellison these volumes provide a well-rounded view into American authors throughout our history. Note that some writings are excerpts.
