## Description

This is the second volume in a two-volume set *Computer Graphics and Geometric Modeling*, which is identified on the back cover as “possibly the most comprehensive overview of computer graphics as seen in the context of geometric modeling.”

From the back cover: “*Computer Graphics and Geometric Modeling: Mathematics* contains the mathematical background needed for the geometric modeling topics in computer graphics covered in the first volume. The second volume begins with material from linear algebra and a discussion of the transformations in affine and projective geometry, followed by topics from advanced calculus. Next are chapters on general topology, combinatorial topology, algebraic topology, differential topology, differential geometry, and finally algebraic geometry. There are lengthy appendices, which carefully state the definitions and results that are assumed.

“Two important goals throughout are to explain the material thoroughly, avoiding a cookbook approach, and to make it self-contained. While some of the mathematics covered is very advanced and may be difficult for some readers, the author always tries to present the material as clearly and simply as possible and to motivate ideas.
