Dante’s Inferno, as it is often referenced, is the story of Dante Alighieri’s journey through Inferno (the Italian word for Hell). Guided by Virgil, Dante travels through the nine (9) circles of Hell until he reaches the center of the Earth where Satan is held in bondage. Along the way he learns of the sins of the unrepentant and the punishment for their deeds.
The Inferno is the first of the three (3) books composing the Divine Comedy. The remaining books are Purgatorio (Italian for “Purgatory”) and Paradiso (Italian for “Paradise” or “Heaven”).
