The Egg Tree (Hardback)
This book won the Caldecott Award Medal in 1951. The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

ACCEPTABLE: There is minor damage to all four corners of the book. The book still has the library due-back card holder in the back. There are several blackened out library name stamps in the book. All-in-all, for its age, the book’s pages are in very good condition. This book has a library binding.
This is the story of Katy, a young girl visiting her Grandmother for Easter. During the Easter Egg Hunt, Katy climbs the stairs to the attic and finds a hat box full of brightly colored eggs. When her grandmother sees it she tells all the children the story of her painting the eggs and how they could make an Easter Egg tree. After Grandmom fetches a tree from the garden they decorate it and Katy wishes everyone in the world could see their beautiful tree, but only the neighbors come to see it this year. When the next Easter comes the make more eggs and decorate a larger tree and people from all around come to see the beautiful Egg Tree.
Beautifully illustrated in water-color prints this is a wonderful Easter story for children. On the back are basic instructions to help create your own Egg Tree.
This book is being sold as a fundraiser for a local Library.
