When we were homeschooling in the early years, we used Five in a Row by Jane Claire Lambert as the foundation for our unit studies. Designed for children ages 4 through 8, these studies used illustrated children’s books as a basis for the study of the various media used to illustrate the book. A popular medium for the illustrators of these children’s books is watercolor.
We’ve added several books dedicated to developing the artistic talent using watercolors. In these resources, you have access to tips and techniques that you can learn for yourself and then pass on to your young student. You never know what creativity you’ll be igniting when you show new ways for artistic expression!
